Heroes

What makes a hero?

A hero is someone that keeps going and moving forward, even knowing that the task is impossible or that it might mean their own person ending.

What is your favorite hero and why do they speak to you?

I am a nerd raised on comic books and cartoons so choosing just one hero is like choosing my favorite childhood memory, almost impossible.  I will say I am drawn to flawed heroes.  Those that are either broken and trying to heal or those that are facing something inside themselves that could be out of control.  Someone like Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) who power corrupted and is trying to make amends for actions he took, someone like Harry Dresden from the Dresden Files that has made a number of wrong or bad choices when he was younger and is trying to make amends but constantly finding himself having to make the more difficult choice, or General Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender who fought a war that destroyed a culture and when he realized what he had done it was too late and is trying to find balance inside himself again.  The struggle of being a hero is what I am drawn to and living up to what that word means.

If you were a superhero, what would your super power be? Could you be tempted to use it for evil?

For the longest time I have wanted a Green Lantern ring.  A ring that has the power to do whatever your Will and Imagination can dream of.  The only limitations are the limitations of yourself…yeah that would be a great birthday present (mine is coming up soon people!)  Could I be tempted to use it for evil?  Of course, I am only human.

What would your costume look like?

I am a simple guy and I like simple costumes, also I am pretty heavy so spandex probably wouldn’t work for me.  Probably just go with a hoodie and cargo pants…normal Lee costume of life.

Monsters

What makes a monster?

I don’t think anything makes a monster.  Monsters just are.  They just exist like a person, tree, or a river.  Now what makes someone/something Monstrous?  The ability to do harm to others and not care.  Not because its the greater good or not because there is something you are trying to get too, but just the ability to do harm for the sake of doing harm or the feeling you get out of it.

What fictional monster scares you the most and why?

Your mom.

What everyday experience brings out the monster in you?

Looking in the mirror.
