THEATRE
Intimacy, Consent, & Body Autonomy in collaborative spaces
A workshop with Cessa betancourt
June 4

A workshop for actors, directors, and leaders in the arts on how to develop a culture of consent, respect, care, trust, comfort, intersectionality, and agency in your rehearsal rooms, organizations, collaborative work, relationships to self.
In this workshop, we will explore how intimacy and consent come into play in fluid art and theatre spaces. Cessa will outline practices for communicating and navigating consent in rehearsal, exploratory, and performance contexts for both artists and audiences. We will also cover developing your relationship with your body and boundaries, personal advocacy, building boundary practices and accountability for a company, and fostering trauma-informed, brave, and creative spaces.
