Social Distance Showdown

Over a dozen, multi-day stage combat workshops were cancelled in 2020-2021 because of COVID-19, on top of many smaller classes offered by individual instructors/theaters. Flying V was set to host over a dozen such classes ourselves. In response to this dearth, Flying V teamed up with Six Elements Theatre and Humble Warrior Movement Arts to present “The Social Distance Showdown”. The event featured two dozen virtual stage combat classes for students of all experience levels, as well as two large panels, and was taught by eighteen national and international certified instructors and leaders in the industry. Flying V saw over a hundred students register, of which almost half made donations to a scholarship fund in order that those for whom the cost might be prohibitive could also register.
